Placing dust collectors indoors without proper protective measures can result in combustible dust fires and explosions. These devastating events may result in serious injuries or fatalities in the blast zone (which often covers the entire workspace), as well as destruction of equipment and buildings. To reduce this risk, dust collectors that handle combustible dust should be located outdoors and away from areas where workers or the public have access.
